NATIONAL PARKS - AMAPA
7 DAYS
ITINERARY
Day 1: Macapa. Arrival in Macapa and transfer from the airport to the hotel. In the afternoon, departure for a walk in the Fortress of Sao Jose, one of the initial landmarks of the city, and the “Middle of the World Monument”. Free time. *Meals are not included this day.
Day 2: Macapa / Oiapoque. Departure from the hotel early in the morning to travel by land to the border between Brazil and French Guiana, on the Oiapoque River in the far north of Amapá. Quick stop in the city of Calçoene, where we can visit the Archaeological Park of the Solstice, an archaeological site of rock art of historical and tourist interest known to house the Astronomical Observatory of Calçoene. Arrival at the end of the afternoon in Oiapoque.
Day 3: Oiapoque / Anotaie River, Montanhas do Tumucumaque National Park. In the morning, a walk in the city, with a visit to the Kuahí Indigenous Museum, local artcrafts exposition and the city’s foundation landmark. In the early afternoon, departure by speedboat up the Oiapoque River to the Anotaie River, in the area of the Montanhas do Tumucumaque National Park. Setting up camp in hammocks, dinner and overnight in the camp set up by the river.
Day 4: Anotaie River, Montanhas do Tumucumaque National Park / Oiapoque. Morning to swim, contemplate landscape and walk in the forest on the Anotaie River. Lunch and then return to the city of Oiapoque. Late afternoon and free night.
Day 5: Oiapoque / Cabo Orange National Park / Oiapoque. At 4:30 am, departure by speedboat to see the birds wake up at the Parrot’s Island on the way between the city and the Cabo Orange National Park. Contemplation of the landscape and navigation on the Park area, which has one third of its territory in marine areas. Rest of the afternoon free in Oiapoque. * Optional tour to San George, French Guiana (not included).
Day 6: Oiapoque / Macapa. Early morning, departure from the hotel for return to Macapa. Quick stops for lunch on the road and to see some places related to Cabo Orange National Park. Arrival at the end of the afternoon and accommodation at the hotel in Macapa. Free time and dinner.
Day 7: Departure Macapa. Breakfast and check-out from the hotel in the morning. Transfer to the airport for departure.
